We are excited to announce the first-ever How Things Work Conference, a special program hosted by EEAC, City College, and the James Baldwin Outdoor Learning Center.

Middle and high school students and teachers are invited to attend the 2024 How Things Work Conference on Tuesday, March 5 at City College. The How Things Work Conference is a first-ever program hosted by the Environmental Education Advisory Council (EEAC) of NYC, City College, and the James Baldwin Outdoor Learning Center. Students will build on their eco-literacy by considering how essential systems work and the role we play every day. This engaging learning experience will help students feel empowered to take action in addressing environmental stewardship and climate resiliency. The conference will include various organizations exhibiting local environmental systems such as water and wastewater, green infrastructure, urban forestry, renewable energy, waste and recycling, and more! Teachers can sign up groups of students, from a select group of 5-10 up to one whole class. Green teams and science clubs are welcome. Registration is open until Tuesday, February 27th.
