Dear EEAC members,
The Environmental Education Advisory Council (EEAC) of New York City is awarding a conference scholarship to the 2026 NY State Outdoor Education Association (NYSOEA) Conference in honor of River DiLeo. A past EEAC Chair, NYSOEA conference chair, and DEI Committee advocate - River was a leader in the outdoor education field who was proud to be part of two organizations that mentor and inspire the next generation of environmental educators.
Those who knew River knew that they were motivational, charismatic, and provided mentorship to so many young professionals. This scholarship continues Riverβs legacy, providing an opportunity for equity, access, and inclusion to professional development through financial support. In addition, the scholarship recipient will receive one free year of NYSOEA membership and be paired with a NYSOEA mentor.
This year's conference scholarship will cover costs for full-conference registration, lodging, and meals. Please visit the NYSOEA 2026 Conference website and continue reading below for more information about the conference.
