Join EEAC and NYU ECE alums in celebrating Mary Leou and her incredible career!

After four decades of growing environmental education in NYC, Dr. Mary Leou has retired from her role as Clinical Professor of Environmental Education and Director of the Environmental Conservation Education (ECE) Graduate Program at New York University.

On 9/14/2026, seventeen of the past EEAC Newsletters from the period between 1994 and 2007 were added to the Newsletters section.

Dear EEAC members,

The Teacher Environmental Education Preparation (TEEP) project was established in December of 1999 as a partnership among the Environmental Education Advisory Council (EEAC), the Wallerstein Collaborative for Urban Environmental Education at New York University and the Council on the Environment of New York City (now GrowNYC). EEAC still coordinates the current version of the project.

The Environmental Education Advisory Council (EEAC) of NYC, the Bronx Community College, and James Baldwin Outdoor Learning Center are excited to host the Third How Things Work Conference on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Bronx Community College.

"Join the annual NYC Outdoors Environmental Education Expo to discover programs, resources and opportunities available for NYC teachers, students and families from dozens of local organizations!
"Each year, this free event aims to showcase environmental education for New York City teachers and informal educators, in hopes that more children will have the opportunity to experience and learn about the natural features of our city.

Join us for the EEAC NYC 2025 Annual Meeting on December 4 at Solar One's new Environmental Education Center.

Nature Is Everywhere
